I absolutely love a good, emotional, ugly cry inducing story. Short, poems, novels, memoirs, whatever.
Crying in H-Mart has been one of my favorite books since it was released out. Tbh, I find myself coming back to it regularly. While the experience of an Asian American woman is not mine, her relationship with her mother and family has really resonated with me to the deepest part of myself. Every read I cry, like a lot.
While I love that book and her story, I want to be emotionally drawn to other stories as well! I love a story that will make me cry in public, but feel so deeply I yearn to read it over and over again.
The Unbearable Lightness of Being is also a top book of mine.
If anyone could suggest a good read to me o would love that!
I do not enjoy fantasy, sci-fi, or really anything “mystical” for this style of writing. Sorry!! I look forward to seeing what people recommend 🥰
