I just finished reading this book and have to say, not a fan.
Overall I found a lot of it confusing, like I didn’t understand the fusion machine/ the Wilbur Mercer stuff, nor why Rick went to that rocky desert towards the end of the novel. I thought he might off himself but it didn’t happen.
I also failed to grasp the POINT of the book. I could tell there *was* one, but I have no idea what that point was. I’m still not even sure why Rick ended up with no empathy towards the androids at the end of the book.
In comparison to the last few stories I read, I’d put this under The Bell Jar and The Yellow Wallpaper.
Maybe 2/5?
