I am very uneducated in this field and unsure where to begin. For now I would like to focus on novels, and have familiarised myself with many novelists and their works; however, I don’t know how to approach reading. Should I take my time and start with the basics, or should I not concern myself with how difficult something is to read and jump in the deep end? I would truly appreciate any comment, regardless of its length, to advise and guide me. I begin University soon and must also balance studying and reading among other things. The book I’m most excited to read is Hemingway’s *The Old Man and the Sea,* is this a good place to start?

    1. Try to have fun?
Dont try reading ‘the classics’ because you have to. Try picking a genre that you like in movies and TV shows and read a book in that genre, look how you like it and if you like it try something similar and if you have fun reading, you do it right.

If you want to read Hemingway, do it. But if you dont enjoy the book dont force yourself reading it.
