Very recently I played a game of interactive fiction called “Ghost Simulator.” It has put me in a ghoulish mood, and is it not the season for spooky stuff like this? I enjoyed it a lot and would like to know if there are any other books where the protagonist is a ghost.
I have done some of my own searching, and it looks like there are slim pickings for books like this (who would’ve thought?) What I would really like to read, if it exist, is a novel where the ghost experiences the shock and terror of being stuck between the dead and the living and has to come to terms with their new existence (or resist it). In other words, I would like the otherworldly experience to be the main focus.
I have not been able to find much so this is a longshot, but perhaps you fine folks know exactly what I am looking for. I will even take comics, manga, etc… I will even take a movie if it fits the bill perfectly.

Maybe *Remember Me* by Christopher Pike, although it’s more the “solving the mystery of my own death” genre than the “coming to terms with my death” one.
*Sparrow Hill Road* by Seanan McGuire
*Everlost* by Neal Shusterman
[The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/57224204) by Shehan Karunatilaka is a bit of a hard read but fits what you are looking for!
The Night Flowers by Sara Herchenroether (there’s several narrators in this one and one is a ghost)
What Came After by Tabor Millien
And these don’t 100% fit these terms but they’re pretty close and good reads:
Paper Valentine by Brenna Yovanoff
And the trees crept in by Dawn Kurtagich
The death of Jane Lawrence by Caitlin Starling
The raw shark texts by Steven Hall
