I saw this one snippet from a book ages ago where a woman describes how upon hearing about a sexual assault case in her college her first thought wasn’t empathy or anger but “why didn’t he pick me?” This was mentioned as a way to point out the influence of a society that pits women against each other.
I’m not sure if I’m describing all the details from the book correctly, but this is the general gist of it. I’ve been searching for this book for ages, does anyone know what it may be? Anything similar works too.
