Hello, I would like to read a horror book about cults. I am in the mood for something gorey perhaps, but other forms of horror being included alongside or instead of would be welcome too.
I really enjoy books that are grounded in the lives of people, have critiques of society through allegory or characters. Historical fiction, literary fiction, political, and speculative fiction are genres I have enjoyed previously.
The only horror book I have read previously was Mariana Enriquez’ *The Dangers of Smoking in Bed* which I really enjoyed.
