I am interested in learning more about the history of slavery/race studies, preferably focusing on Black/African-American women. I have read Ain’t I a Woman by Bell Hooks and I also recently acquired a book titled Wake by Rebecca Hall. I would like to find a book that is more gritty and unforgiving with its information. I’m very interested in the hard truths. Are there any reputable authors or works that are engaging and informative?
