This book is supposed to be examining how the Seven Deadly Sins put pressure on women. I was gifted it for Christmas and the subject seemed very interesting as I am a historian and enjoy mostly nonfiction books. I’ve struggled through the first half of the book and it’s… not great.
There is a chapter examining the history of patriarchy that does not cite any historical sources and when you look in the back of the book the author is using online articles as proper research sources!
The author complains about how her husband is lazy and doesn’t help in their marriage at all. Constantly. The writing often switches between memoir-like and “academic-style” and it just generally feels very jumbled.

I would avoid this book, it’s expensive and not worth it. It’s not really a study on the seven deadly sins, more a memoir about the author’s personal experiences with these concepts. It’s very misleading.

I’m curious to hear if anyone else has read this book and what their personal thoughts are. Did you enjoy it?

Honestly, the concept seemed so fake and gimmicky that I gave it a pass, but thank you for making me feel good about my choice!
