I want non fiction self help books that are 1- not toxic positivity 2- written by people who acknowledge or at least understand their own privileges 3- From personal experience and 4- written by people from all walks of life. Anyone- Young, Old, mentally healthy, mentally ill, from different countries, skin colors, men, women, trans, parents, child free, dropouts, PHD holders, poor, wealthy, messy, organized, dog lovers, artists, disabled, war vets, paramedics, etc.

I want to learn. I want to find books i disagree with and find myself questioning why i disagree. I want to read something that makes me think wow, how did i ever go through life not realizing something so obvious. I want to understand why certain people do things that seem to be obviously bad choices, whether it be because it was the best option they had or they just wanted to do something crazy out of curiosity.

Non fiction I’ve read/am reading so far and liked-

1-How Stella Learned to Talk by Christina Hunger
2-How to Keep House While Drowning by KC Davis
3-The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green
4- How to ADHD by Jessica McCabe
