I finished Fossil Men by Kermit Pattison a few months ago and I’ve been trying to find something similar to it with no luck. The non-fiction anthropology book covered the indepth history around the investigation, field research, scientific study of the hominid named Ardi. The author researched for several years the subject matter and it shows in the complexity of how it was written and the language. It really felt like I was reading a scientific peer-reviewed journal in addition to the history of the research and scientific impact it had.

Does anyone have any suggestions of a highly researched, high complexity scientific non-fiction novel similar to this? It doesn’t necessarily need to be around anthropology, although I would prefer it to be around anthropology, paleontology or geology. I would be open to anything. Thanks in advance!

No recommendations, but I just started Fossil Men based on this post and love it! If you repost this to another sub and get some responses, would you mind reporting back? 😊 I’m so interested what folks will recommend!
