To give an an example. Last month I randomly picked out Adventures of a Mathematician. I knew absolutely nothing about the book. Turned out to be the autobiography of Stanislaw Ulam, a smart mathematician who worked on the Manhattan Project and developed a statistical analysis called Monte Carlo, which I had studied in a class a couple years ago. The guy had an interesting life and the book was pretty good.
