When it comes to wolf literature about real breathing animals, I am not terribly picky, though my taste for werewolf books tends to lean more modern.

While romance and nsfw aspects are /fine/ They are not my primary concern nor should they dominate the story. I prefer stories where werewolves indulge and enjoy their powers, when they take on- if not actual Wolf behavior, some semblance of an animal connection.

Any werewolf suggestions should be about books that focus on the lycanthropes and their world and don’t utilize it as a subtle conflict for human concern or issues. Broody bloodthirsty monsters are acceptable, but only if they serve more than as the main antagonist.

Bonus points for anything lgbt, in audibook format or that actually does adhere to real world Wolf social structures.

Beneath are some books I’ve enjoyed in no particular order. There is a chance that I’ve missed some, but any suggestions or leads are of value to me. Thank you!!
