Im looking for series in a similar mould to Skulduggery Pleasant, Mortal Instruments (although with less incestuous undertones pls i couldnt finish the series because of it), Hunger games, Legend etc. Im finding myself getting bored of series rather quickly if im not instantly hit with an interesting character and a reason to root for them, and a lot of action. I mean “futuristic future” as if to say no societies that have reverted to feudalism or kingdoms following a catastrophic event or something like that. And even that could be okay as long as its not a heavily important aspect of the story. Through research I feel like mistborn might be a good choice in terms of all aspects bar the kingdom aspect that I mentioned, so if anyone has read that and wants to tell me how much that impacts the story I would appreciate it! I also found a series called Maximum Ride, and that seems to fit what I’m looking for, but the reviews seem to consider it extremely one dimensional. I’d say from reading the reviews it might have a similar feel to divergent, which is a story I liked but felt like it should have been much more. So, if you have any recommendations, let me know!
