I have been trying to get out of a reading slump – after reading misery and the book thief I feel like it’s been hard to find someone that piques my interest. So help – what is your all time favorite book? Or top three. I know that’s a hard ask.

I have too many favourites but here are three I would re-read.

Good Omens- Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman

      Dune- Frank Herbert

Last Chance to See- Douglas Adams

    2. Orphan X – Greg Hurwitz

      Poppy War – R.F Kuang

A Long Way to a Small Angry Planet – Becky Chambers

    3. All You Need is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. Military SF meets Groundhog Day.

Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao. Pacific Rim meets The Handmaid’s Tale.

    4. Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik

The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton

      Intervention by Julian May

    5. I’ll mention some favourites from this year because otherwise there would be too many:

Percival Everett – *I am Not Sidney Poitier*

Ursula K.LeGuin – *The Left Hand Of Darkness*

    6. The gargoyle by Andrew Davidson, ender’s game by Orson Scott card, battlefield earth by l. R. Hubbard

    7. My top four are-

      * Metro 2033-Dmitry Glukhovsky
      * The City of Dreaming Books-Walter Moers
      * The Siala Chronicles (Shadow Prowler, Shadow Chaser, Shadow Blizzard)-Alexy Pehov
      * The Witcher Saga-Andrzej Sapkowski

I have loads more I could add XD

    8. I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou

      Gitanjali by Tagore

Mill on the Floss by George Eliot

A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth

The Neapolitan novels by Elena Ferrante.
It tackles friendship, love, politics, class, feminism, maternity. Once you start it, it’s really hard to put it down.

    10. Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber
      Babel by R.F Kuang
      Book Lovers by Emily Henry
People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry
Patron Saints of Nothing by Randy Ribay
Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai
Terms and Conditions by Lauren Asher
Edit: I forgot to add the Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood

Yeah, they’re either really dramatic or really romantic.

    11. Hold the Dark by William Giraldi, Devil All the Time by Donald Ray Pollock, & The Road by Cormac McCarthy are my top 3 favorites at the moment. Also they are shorter reads and have a steady flow so they’re perfect if you haven’t read books in awhile and want to get back in the groove of reading easily as opposed to being overwhelmed by a really long, complicated volume.

    12. Maybe not my all time favorite, but damn if Lonesome Dove isn’t in my top 10. Page turning and well written. Still think about the characters a lot almost a year later.

    13. Alarmed-Pea-2096 on

The Ex by Nicola Moriarty (probably the most tightly plotted domestic thriller I’ve ever read, but I’m still relatively new to the genre)

Love Struck by Melanie La’Brooy (when I’m in the mood for a ridiculously fun romance novel)

The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold (a very moving and poignant read but definitely have to be in the right mindset whenever I re-read this)
