Hey everyone!
I am reviewing all that I read in 2023 and trying to find new books for the new year. I’m also beginning to get a sense of what I enjoy but sometimes have trouble finding more.
Here is the list:
1. Monkeys are Made of Chocolate – Jack Ewing
of the Summer Moon – S.C. Gwyne
2. Smoke Gets in Your Eyes – Caitlin Doughty *
3. Oranges – John McPhee*
4. Cultish – Amanda Montell*
5. Braiding Sweetgrass – Robin Wall Kimmerer
6. Bullshit Jobs – David Graeber
7. Beaverland – Leila Philip*
8. Uncommon Carriers – John McPhee*
9. Second Nature – Michael Pollan
10. Stiff: the curious lives of human cadavers – Mary Roach
11. Fish – T.J. Parsell*
12. Silent Spring – Rachel Carson*
13. Evicted – Matthew Desmond*
14. The Shadow System – Sylvia Harvey
15. Last Chance to See – Douglas Adams*
16. A Walk Around the Block – Spike Carlsen
Asterisks mean that I especially loved the book and/or the author’s writing style. However, I don’t think there were any books that I hated (a few I abandoned though!)
Whatever you can recommend is greatly appreciated!
