Hello!! I’m searching for something that’s really enthralling, but not dark? I don’t mind if it’s humour or romance or anything, I’m just hoping to find something that grips me, but that doesn’t have the the slightly unsettling vibe that a lot of contemporary fiction has!
If it helps, I’ve really enjoyed things like Swimming in the Dark, Circe, and Babel, so I’m open across genres!
What I’ve read recently are things like Big Swiss by Jen Beagin and Closer by Dennis Cooper, and I loved both but they were really quite unsettling, and I would love to find some books that don’t make me feel weird inside!
