After years of strictly reading non-fiction, I’m finally on a fantasy kick! I’m looking for recommendations based on my childhood fantasy favorites, the common denominator being, seemingly, just really clever world-building, and some fish-out-of-water elements in some cases:
-The Phantom Tollbooth
-Narnia series
-Time Stops for No Mouse (and sequels)
-Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH
-The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles
-The Borrowers (never read the book but was OBSESSED with the movie)
-Osmosis Jones (I know it’s not a book – I just loved the clever world building!)
