We are always told “Don’t Judge a Book by its Cover”But…Curious if any of you have ever bought a book based on its cover alone that you LOVED. Maybe the blurb was a bit interesting too but fundamentally the cover was what convinced you to give a book a try.It has happened to me twice if I recall correctly:firs time when I was about 11 and I saw *”Time Stops for No Mouse”* by Michael Hoeye.

Its a wonderful story set in an anthrapamorphic rodent world where a watchmaker becomes involved in a missing person’s case when a customer never collects her watch. Absolutely wonderful cosy read that I have read multiple times. However, what attracted me was the lovely hardback blue book with the silver stars.
And another time was in my twenties at a Carboot Sale where I found an antique, beautiful leatherbound copy of “Sorrows of Satan” by Marie Corelli. There was no blurb. I felt like I was in some creepy, horror movie finding a cursed book and couldn’t resist. Turned out to be just a brilliant Faustian novel that was considered one of the world’s first “best sellers!” It was AMAZING!

Geoffrey Tempest, a struggling pover stricken novelist unexpectedly inherits £5 million from a distant relative. The inheritence however, comes with an introduction to a certain Prince Lucio Raminez, who turns out to be Satan, ready to corrupt Geoffrey Tempest.
It was absolutely fantastic and such a shame that its fallen out of regular discussion because it really is a fantastic read and a great addition to Faustian literature.
**Anyone else had a successful experience judging a book by its cover?**
