I just finished this book and I loved it. I laughed, I cried, I wrote notes to myself for later. I loved the style: memoir + history + context. Reading Viet Thanh Nguyen’s work has always felt like a conversation between humanist/ anti-colonial thinkers, but this book feels like a quilt of thinking + emotion. (And some Hollywood gossip?!) I’m ready to spend the next 10 years talking about each individual sentence. Has anyone else finished it?
