Who is the most frustrating character in a book you have read?

Please tell the character, the book and why they are especially frustrating to you.

I will go first. I am currently reading Parable of the Talents by Octavia E. Butler.

The main character, Lauren Olamina, has a brother named Marco “Marc” Duran.

He is one of the most frustratingly selfish and dense individuals I have read in a book.

I try to empathize and understand each and every character I read, however, his actions related to his relationship with his religious cult and the main character’s daughter are horrible to me.

I would love to hear some of your most hated, loathed, detested, well-written characters!
