so i just finished this book and i… don’t know how to feel about it? the ending was not great imo. my takeaways from it are, we cannot lose our souls to beauty. you won’t even recognize yourself one day. we are more alike to our parents than we realize. noelle and belle share the same darkness.
i would give it a 4/5, i really liked the book and its dark depths. however, i found the sci-fi fantasy elements hard to follow and visualize sometimes, like “tom” coming through the mirror and belle seeing her reflection mouthing words in the mirrors at her shop towards the end. i also thought the tom thing was corny. i would have preferred if awad just named this mysterious spirit/person “seth” and left it at that. anyway, just would like to hear your thoughts! it’s a different type of book for sure.
