Book written in present tense irritate me so much I cannot read them, no matter how good the story might be. I’m probably missing out on some really good books, but having an invisible commentator in the room with the characters giving a blow by blow description of what they are now doing, just drags me out of the story in a way that past tense does not. The worst part is more and more authors are starting to use it. Anyone else feel this way?
