I recently bought the Barnes & Noble edition of The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson, I’ve never read any of his books before, but hear interesting stuff so I went for it.

I am maybe, 60 pages in, and I am wondering, does it jump around the whole time? I like what I’ve read, but I am also finding it hard to keep reading when there isn’t really any thing to keep it going except for the lore. I usually don’t consider DNFing a a boon till I’m 25% in or so, but this one is hitting me different, so I thought I’d see if the characters stick around longer than a few pages before making that call.

    1. Each chapter is a different PoV, just like Game of Thrones. There will come a point when many of the the PoV characters meet up, but if that style of writing doesn’t work for you, it doesn’t really change.

    2. It’s a slow book, at least in the beginning. And switching POVs are fairly common in fantasy epics, and the series will continue doing so, so if it pulls you out too much from the flow, it’s okay to DNF.
The pace will pick up later though, but I find it’s rarely worth reading much of a slog to eventually, hopefully, have it get better.
