First of all, I have to give some credit to this book. It was very easy to read and got me out of a big reading slump. The first quarter or so of the story was interesting too (up until the part when Daisy and The six met) but afterwards it just got very samey and boring, so I dropped it around 200 pages in.
None of the characters are particularly likable, and while I don’t mind stories with unlikable protagonists, this is just exhausting to read. The only narrator I don’t despise at this point is Karen, since she’s not that concerned with the drama in the band and is overall pretty chill.
The interview format gimmick also got old quickly.
Previously I considered picking up The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo, but I doubt I will since I couldn’t finish this one either. I might attempt to continue later, but I’m not picking it up again for a good while.
I’m wondering if anyone had any similar experiences with this book, since it seems to be pretty well-regarded on the internet. (Particularly booktok and goodreads though, which isn’t saying much)
