Help, I have a book-related dilemma. My boss knows I am an avid reader and he has got into the habit of bringing books into the office for me. It seems like he brings almost any book into the office, to offer it to me. There is no pre-discussion, he just hands me the book when he’s finished with it.
You might be thinking “yay, free book”, but it’s not that simple. I really don’t like the books he’s giving to me. I won’t say they are bad books, but I really am not enjoying them. The one he has just given looks like the kind of formulaic genre thing I would never read, and the previous two were DNF.
I know he expects me to read them, as he asks me about them. I can just about get by if I’ve read some of the book. But not if I’ve read none of it. I have so many great books on my to-read list that I really can’t waste my time on books I don’t like.
