I’ve recently read “If We Were Villains” and I loved it! Other gothic/horror movies and books I’ve loved in the past are:
Rebecca (book), The VVitch (movie), Haunting of Hill House (loved the show, didn’t care for the book), Stolen Tongues (book, terrified me), Dracula (the Gary Oldman version lol), Crimson Peak (movie), Interview with the Vampire (book and movie)
LGBTQ+ books very welcome! I clearly love a little mix of sexy romance and horror, especially tragic female characters or feminist themes. I’ve had my eye on reading “Slewfoot” or “Carmilla” for a while, but I wanted to see if anyone had a rec for the perfect October book first. Thank you!!

The Witch of Tin Mountain by Paulette Kennedy! I loved this book. It’s gothic and spooky and has witchcraft and a creepy villain and it’s also got a lesbian romance in it. Ticks all the boxes!
Bunny by Mona Awad
Catherine House by Elizabeth Thomas
Under the Pendulum Sun by Jeanette Ng
Mexican Gothic by Sylvia Moreno Garcia
