Hello book community! My friend recently got into books and is seemingly enjoying them (only read about 3 or 4 books so far) and I’m willing to buy him books for his Birthday. He mentioned his excitement for reading either Lord of The Rings or Game of Thrones, my plan was to order the full box set of LoTR for him since it’s not an extremely long series and is finished, however the store ran out of stock and won’t restock until a month from now. I can buy the Original Full book of LoTR for him however unlike the box set it doesn’t include The Hobbit book. I thought of buying the GoT box set for him since LoTR isn’t available but I feel like GoT might be a bit daunting due to its size and the fact that it’s an unfinished series yet, it does look amazing as a gift though.
So help me out, should I buy the LoTR original full book even though it doesn’t include The Hobbit book and doesn’t really look like a nice gift, or should I buy him the GoT box set even though it seems to be a massive and daunting series to get into for a new book reader? All advice are appreciated!
