I am reading American Gods (my first Gaimann) and I need a book with faster pacing. What are some of the fasted paced books you’ve read?

I am really liking American Gods (except from the “Somewhere in America” parts, too much telling for my taste). However, I am thinking about the next book I want to read and I would like a full 180.

American Gods’ pacing is pretty slow, what is a book you’ve read with a fast pace? What do you think makes a pace fast? Do you like fast-pacing books?
