Hi! I’m not much of a reader but I want to start reading more. One type of book I really want to read is about a character dealing with chronic illness, or how to deal with it. I have 2 chronic diseases and they’re a lot to deal with mentally, maybe reading books abt it can help. Thanks!

    1. Hi!! It’s nonfiction but Ill Feelings by Alice Hattrick talks about chronic illness and disability in women, from literary icons like Virginia Woolf, to the author’s and her mother’s own experiences with chronic pain. It’s one of my top reads for this year.

For fiction, check out this [list.](https://bookriot.com/books-about-characters-with-chronic-pain/)

Also, googling “Books with chronically ill characters” will give you a lot of titles to choose from.

    2. Out of my mind, it’s about a young girl who has Cerebral Palsy. Chronic condition but not a disease so i’m not sure if that difference makes a difference for you.

    3. William Soutar, *Diaries of a Dying Man* – he spent ten years bedridden with ankylosing spondylitis before dying quite young, but the book is mostly outward-looking, addressed to literary companions.
