*Lone Women* by victor lavalle. Not my favorite if his, but I enjoyed it and it was full of interesting history and ideas.

I’ve never read Sharp Objects but some I’ve enjoyed recently with some fucked up family secrets are The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley, The Death of Mrs. Westaway, the Daughter of Doctor Moreau by Silvia Moreno Garcia (and even Mexican Gothic for that matter), The Hacienda by Isabel Cañas, The Appeal by Janice Hallett
