I’m just looking for my experience growing up worded in a full book.
To give more context, I’m mostly Filipino and attended a predominantly Chinese school in the Philippines. There were a lot of upfront prejudice and microagressions coming from the fully Chinese students whose entitlement to feel proud of their ethnicity also translated to being entitled in belittling mine, all while being in my homeland.
Looking back at it now, it was definitely a bizarre experience that I don’t want to simply brush off. I want to open it more, starting with a good book.
If anyone wants to recommend poems or short excerpts that fit the description, I’d like that too!
