I spend a lot of time in the car and I listen to audiobooks to pass the time. Authors who’ve worked best for me in this context: Patrick O’Brian and John Le Carre. And although I’ve read (rather than listened to) these authors, Tana French and Kate Atkinson would also fit the bill. I think the common denominator is that (a) they have style at the sentence level without being too dense; and (b) they have a pulpy hook (adventure, spies, crime, etc.). Any suggestions? Thanks!
