I have about 250-300 books on my shelves and they are maxed out. Recently I’ve been buying multiple translations of books such as Don Quixote and Demons. I love having several interpretations of passages.
I am considering that for most of my future purchases I will mostly buy Kindle. Kindle buys I usually buy free, Kindle Unlimited, or the $.99 or $1.99 books. I have a problem swallowing $9.99 to own something digitally- I feel like I don’t actually own it- and I think legally you do not. Ironically, it’s the contemporary novels that I am less likely to want to own a hard copy and would prefer having a digital.
Classic books there are beautiful vintage copies available and these are the ones I am likely to re-read and would like to own. However, these are the ones that are public domain and can be purchased for free or for $.99 as an e-book.
Does anyone have a preference or a system of making Kindle or paper book purchases? I think it’s time I check out Libby.
