I’ve recently started branching out and reading more contemporary fiction – I typically only read fantasy and sci-fi. Some of my favourites so far have a similar emotional tone: hopeful, coming into one’s own, and savouring and appreciating life.
Books like this that I’ve liked include “Convenience Store Woman” and “Days at the Morisaki Bookshop”. I’d be interested in more books with a similar tone, or maybe some hopeful climate fiction.
Suggestions don’t need to be 100% lighthearted, but things with super heavy themes like “A Little Life” have been really difficult and unrewarding for me.
Thanks in advance!
