Mine was >!Dobby!< in *Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows*. I was going into 5th grade the summer it came out and it was the first book I’d ever pre-ordered. I binge-read it over 2-3 days (a very fast pace for me back then) and this scene absolutely devastated me. I’d always enjoyed reading, but I’d never realized how much a book could hurt. What was your similar experience?
