So once upon a time, I read a sci-fi book, and for the life of me, I cannot remember the name of the book, nor the general plot of the book, only the big reveal at the end.
The general gist of the reveal was that humans had begun as a race somewhere across the galaxy, and that there were human civilizations spread all over the galaxy by these proto-humans. The proto-humans had a computer that could answer basically any question and it had told them that there was an inevitable extragalactic invasion coming. We, on earth, were one of galactic humanity’s best chances to win this war, because we were one of the most advanced outcroppings of humans, outside of the ones who had started this whole thing.
Please, help me figure out which book this is, it’s driving me NUTS!
