In a bit of a sad mood and I’d like to read about younger people (20-35) finding who they want to be. Doesn’t have to be the main focus of the book, can be a subplot, though it should be well-written and probably the main character development for the protagonist.
For some reason, for these kind of books I tend to gravitate towards sapphic romance, or queer identity discovery. These are just what I tend toward, it’s not a real preference and I’m pretty much open to anything.
It would be kinda cool if it was fantasy and/or not set in New York City (is NYC the captital of self-discovery or something?).

Mysteries of Pittsburgh has a bisexual male lead having relationships with a person of each gender right after college graduation trying to find and define himself against his gangster father. Michael Chabon’s stunning debut novel, not NYC, but Pittsburgh comes off as a character unto itself in the book.
