I read a book last year about a pair of childhood friends that lived on a lake and had a falling out in high school. One moved away but is brought back (I think to sell her parents’ house?) And is reunited with the friend and her high school love. She finds out the reason for the falling out was a misconception & that said friend is dying. They also find out they’re half-sisters because the one friend was adopted & both of their mothers were raped by the same man as teens.
