It’s set roughly 45 years before The Lighthouse, but The Terror by Dan Simmons is a great book. It takes place on a frozen sea (with flashbacks of sailing, naturally) in the arctic, where the men of the expedition are trapped and everything is starting to unravel, in more ways than one. I don’t want to say more and give anything away, just suffice it to say it has a lot of the same elements, like going mad, being at the mercy of the terrain, etc.
