I’m looking for some night-time reading books to wind down to.
I’m a big fan of the following-
Gabriel Garcia Marquez
Mikhail Bulgakov
John Darnielle
Joan Didion
Dave Eggers (early)
Daniel Wallace
I also just read Pynchon’s The Crying of Lot 49. I really enjoyed it until the end. I wish the ending >!resolved!<

Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne
Primeval and Other Times by Olga Tokarczuk
This is light reading? Sheesh! (I kid, I kid…)
Definitely read:
Jorge Luis Borges’ Fictions (short stories to make your brain fizz gently all night long)
Flann O’Brian’s The Third Policeman (highly suspicious bicycles)
The Best of R. A. Lafferty (as close to magical realism as American science fiction gets)
Guillermo Cabrera Infante’s Three Trapped Tigers (pre-Castro Havana, jazz, wicked puns, and the assassination of Leon Trotsky from the viewpoints of several famous Cuban authors)
