I want read something about what masculinity really is, not just the simple be strong and emotionless trope. Cry Macho is one of my favorite books because I feel like it plays on the expectations of masculinity really well. The main character on the surface is your typical tough guy but under the surface there’s emotion and doubt. The Travis McGee series is also great because it walks that line also. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
