I recently impulsively bought a kindle. I’ve been trying to finish a book but found myself stopped reading after finishing a few pages (i randomly chose high review books in amazon prime).
Can anyone please recommend something not too long or short that can get me hooked?
I like most genres fiction/non fiction, murder mystery, romance, thriller (but not horror) etc.
thank you ☺️
EDIT: thanks for the lists guys! So many of them! ❤️❤️❤️

UR by Stephen King is a novella about a guy who gets a Kindle. Not too long, not too short. It’s Stephen King, but not horror.
*Sadie* – it’s YA, but is one of my favorite thrillers and is pretty easy to read over a few hours. (If you’re trying to get back into reading after a long hiatus, which it sounds like you may be, I usually find it easier to ease back into things by reading YA.)
*How to Order the Universe* is also a good one. This is more of a reflective, coming-of-age narrative, one that’s also easy to read in an afternoon.
The Space Adventures of Commander Laine.
Who Moved my Cheese?
A short read with a motivational message.
A well-written mystery series that is not too long or short is the Sean Duffy series by Adrian McKinty starting with The Cold, Cold Ground.
Two other excellent mystery series are the Dublin Murder Squad by Tana French and the Cormoran Strike series by Robert Galbraith, but those books do have a hefty page count.
Ready Player One!
The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary
What do you mean by ‘too short’? Like how short is too short?
* Burn by Patrick Ness
* The Emelan books by Tamora Pierce – the first quartet is relatively short but they are excellent.
* The Unbelieved by Vikki Petraitis
* The Mark Ariti books
* Gemma Woodstock books
* Perveen Mistry books
* Stuart McBride’s Logan McRae books – not ‘horror’ in the sense of ghouls and ghosts and things that go bump in the night, but it is gory.
* Kaveri and Ramu books – these are fairly short
* Shardlake books
* Sam Wyndham books
Beauty is a Wound by Eka Kurniawan.
Susan Elizabeth Phillips – Natural Born Charmer
Peter Allison – Whatever You Do, Don’t Run
Percy Jackson and the Olympians (first book is Lightning thief)
