Normally i read non-fiction. I have not read a fiction book in several books, so I want you suggestions of which of the following books I should buy:
1) Yellowface by R.F. Kuang
2) Tom Lakeby Ann Patchett
3) She Who Became the Sun by
4) Mother-Daughter Murder Night by Nina Simon

I’ve read 1, 2, & 4.
I hated Yellowface (too unsubtle/unnuanced, awful characters) but I seem to be in the minority about it here on reddit and on Goodreads.
Mother-Daughter Murder Night was fine, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone (I gave it 3 stars.)
Tom Lake will probably be one of my favorites read in 2023, but I think you need to be a woman of a certain age to enjoy it maybe?
I will also say, my book club read all of these (40 something moms) because we read the Reese Book Club picks and these were her picks the last few months. They all hated Mother Daughter Murder Night more than me, felt the same about Yellowface, but mixed bag on Tom Lake (they either absolutely swoon ADORED it or felt it was super boring and a slog.)
What made you narrow down to these books in particular? What kind of book are you in the mood for?
