Hello I’m 20f and I’m trying to get out of reading Young adult and start reading more adult books. However classics intimidate me and I’m unsure if I would like them. I like every genre, except for romance. Can anyone recommend me good adult books? Thanks!!

City of Girls
The Red Tent
Jitterbug Perfume
Gone Girl
Sharp Objects
Daisy Jones and the Six (not a romance, but there is romance)
One for the Money
Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop Cafe
Try anything by Lois McMaster Bujold (except maybe her Wide Green World books which are good, but more romance). Start with *The Warrior’s Apprentice* for Science Fiction and *The Curse of Chalion* or *Penric’s Demon* for Fantasy.
I’m sure you’ll find classics you like. They have become classics for a reason. Maybe check out Steinbeck.
