I hope this is the right place for my question. I know Inferno and the Divine Comedy are technically poems I guess.
I was sent a scam email earlier today, one about some $700 tablet purchase via my PayPal. I was sharing it with my girlfriend and was joking about just how far down into Hell scammers are dropped, assuming Dante’s model is accurate of course.
Now I’m actually curious. They would be dropped into the 8th Circle, Fraud, but I can’t figure out exactly which ditch. Several of them are so similar (not in punishment but in sin). I’ve narrowed it down to the Fifth (Grifters), the Seventh (Thieves), and the Tenth (Falsifiers) (but it could be another one altogether). For those of you familiar with the Inferno, which specific ditch do you think scammers would go to?
