Just makes it so much easier to hold them flat and read the text in the middle 🙂 It’s important to press down hard as well while it’s folded backwards so you get a nice big crease all along the spine. I honestly think it’s an improvement, it adds character and basically eliminates the need to buy ugly hardcovers just to get a book that lays flat.
Another little life-hack is that I like to dog ear my pages as a bookmark. By the time I’m done reading it’s like your book is a beautiful work of origami, ready to be displayed on your shelf in all its glory.
