Looking for a book that features organisms from the times long gone, but not Jurassic Park-like (extinct animals brought into modern world), but preferably the other way around? Doesn’t matter if the protagonist is an animal or time-traveling human. It must be a very niche thing because I can’t find anything 😀 Thanks in advance.
P.S. Something fun that is non-fiction fits too, I really enjoyed A Short History of Nearly Everything, while I didn’t enjoy Your Inner Fish that much.

For fiction, you could try Clan of the Cave Bear. It is not specifically about animals, but does feature ice age animals. I’ve only read the first one. I’ve heard the rest of the series is more caveman erotica, if you’re into that…
For non fiction, I really enjoyed The Rise and Fall of Dinosaurs. It was educational but still entertaining.
I haven’t read it yet, but The Rise and Reign of Mammals by the same author is on my list to read soon.
