Hi everyone. As the title says I need a book that I can make a book report on. The book has to be at least 150 pages and I have until the end of the semester to read/make the report on it. The book has to have some sort of technology themes that I can talk about since it is a computer science ethics class. Some examples that the Professor said are Ready Player One, 1984 (wasn’t to keen on it), Dune, and other books like them. She said science fiction works great but nonfiction books are also good choices.

I’ve found two books that I’m interested in with them being Feed by M.T. Anderson, and The Glass Cage by Nicholas G. Carr.

Thank you to anyone that responds with recommendations.

    1. I haven’t read the two books you asked about, and yet I suggest you consider Max Tegmark’s **Life 3.0**. It raises ethical questions arising from the ascent of artificial intelligence – questions that are currently appearing in the news, court rooms, and subreddits daily.

    2. Ghost in the Wires by Kevin Mitnick

      Permanent Record by Edward Snowden

Both are narrative non fiction and excellent. Lots of fodder for your class topics 🙂

    3. I’d recommend looking at Michael Crichton books. He writes techno-thrillers that do often express concerns re: technological advancement.
