Hi everyone, I’m in a bit of a reading slump and would love some recs on what to read next!
I’ve discovered that I really like heartwarming stories infused with humor and wit, featuring unique and fun characters. I’m drawn to stories that, while occasionally poignant and a tad melancholic, ultimately leave me with a warm, appreciative glow. I love books that delve into everyday human emotions, offering sharp and astute observations of people and their beautifully flawed selves.
Here are the ones I love:
* A Man Called Ove
* Lessons in Chemistry
* Books by Liane Moriarty (I especially loved What Alice Forgot and The Last Anniversary)
* A Gentleman in Moscow
* The Storied Life of AJ Fikry
Here are some that are usually recommended that I didn’t like as much:
* The House in the Cerulean Sea (a bit too juvenile/cutesy for my liking)
* Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine (didn’t really like the characters)
* Where’d You Go, Bernadette (didn’t really like the characters)
If you have any books that fit the bill – stories that are thought-provoking, light-hearted, and uplifting all at once – I’d be super grateful for your recommendations!
