I’m looking for a good sci-fi novel with drama and romance(optional) in it. For reference, I really enjoyed the movies A.I, Interstellar, About Time, The Girl who Leapt Through Time,, etc.
Anything by Philip K. Dick – the guy was amazing. Just pick a novel by him randomly and you can’t go wrong. 🙂

Blake Crouch’s man-on-the-run thriller **Dark Matter** cranks up in the first few pages. Sci-fi based. Written in first person therefore the reader is trying to figure out what is happening at the same rate the protagonist is.

Good Morning, Midnight by Lily Brooks Dalton

A Civil Campaign by Lois McMaster Bujold. It’s part of a series but the author brings you up to speed on essential backstory without infodumping you into oblivion. It’s got SF, political intrigue, and humor in generous quantities.
